Skalflex Colours for your Facades - Useful Advice

Skalflex Colours for your Facades - Useful AdviceAlways remember to examine the current condition of the facade and any previous treatment first. Then select the appropriate product. Your selection of colours may be limited depending on which product you need.

Look at the facade carefully and try to understand its expression - not least its impact on the surroundings. Size up the surroundings; look at next-door houses, the street and the entire neighbourhood. Also, look into any specific regulations and easements applicable to the area.

Whichever colour you choose, it should match the colour of the roof of the house as well as the base. If you need a new colour for the base, it may be a good idea to choose a colour that is darker than the one you choose for the house. This will highlight other facade surfaces more.

Always paint or plaster house extensions and the like the same colour as the house. In this way, the aesthetics of the building will be uniform and consistent. Be careful with bright colours on large surfaces. Instead, use bright colours to create an effect on woodwork, consoles, window rabbets and banisters. If you would like to highlight windows, window rabbets or other parts of the house, you can do so by using contrasting colours around these. Colours with various degrees of yellow in them are excellent if you are in the countryside. If you live in a town or the city, you can better experiment with your colours.
