Skalcem S2000/CF2000

Properties

Skalcem S 2000SKALCEM S 2000 (S 2000) is a coloured plaster for finishing based on cement. COLOUR FILTS 2000 (CF 2000) is not coloured but is supplied in 25 kg bags along with a bag of dye powder, which is to be added to plaster during mixing.

SKALCEM S 2000 and CF 2000 contain no formaldehyde or other harmful components. The product can be used outside and inside on brick etc. as a plaster finish. S 2000 and CF 2000 are weatherproof, washable and resistant to mechanical influence.

As the product is open for diffusion it allows the wall to breathe. It is environmentally friendly and can be used indoors as well as outdoors. Otherwise, frequent peeling due to premature or excessive painting is avoided. The brickwork is left with beautiful and vibrant finish after glazing. S 2000 and CF 2000 can be freshened up using Skalcem 100, Skalflex Facade Silicate paint or Skalflex Siloxane paint.

Application

SKALCEM S 2000Add S 2000/CF 2000 to water - approx. 6 litre water to 25 kg. When mixing CF 2000, the dye powder must be whisked into the water first before adding the dry mortar.

Use a whisk attachment to your drill for mixing. Apply the plaster using a steel glazing board in a 0.5 - 1 mm thick layer. Water the wall prior to plastering. Rub with a dry sponge. In order to avoid shade differences, the surface should be finished in one go.

If the joints are retracted and a greater filling is desired, we recommend using 20% dried quartz sand (0.4-0.8 mm). Good adherence can be obtained on interior walls if 2 litres of the water is substituted by 2 litres Skalflex Beto-Lime Binder.

SKALCEM S 2000We recommend soft stones for a trowelled finish - preferably red, as these usually contain fewer salts than the yellow ones. Skalcem 2000 / CF 2000 must not be used on machine-produced stones, as these, especially the yellow cell/cavity stones, have a high risk of cracking in frost.

Recently laid brickwork must be dry and thoroughly hardened before finishing is applied.

Only use S 2000 / CF 2000 at temperatures above 5 °C. Finishing should not be applied during the winter.

Use S 2000 / CF 2000 with the same date of production in order to avoid any differences in shade. If there is a risk of low night temperatures or rain, the surface should be kept covered 3-5 days after finishing is applied.
