Skalflex Facade Silicate Paint is a mineral natural product. The binding agent is silicate (water glass) which ensures the paint's chemical reaction with any dry mineral surface like e.g. trowelled finish, plaster, concrete, eternit etc.

The chemical reaction with the surface creates an insoluble connection with the mineral underlay, so that the wall is protected against acid rain and other air pollution factors. The paint is open to diffusion, leaving you with a healthy wall that can breathe.

Skalflex Facade Silicate Paint can be used profitably indoors, as it contains no organic solvents. At the same time, the alkaline surface causes a good atmosphere as the growth of bacteria and dry rot is prohibited.

Silicate Primer

Skalflex Silicate Primer is a colourless primer based on a double water glass concentrate. The primer is used on highly absorbent surfaces as well as for diluting Skalflex Silicate Paint, see "Application".

Coverage:	15 - 20 m 2 per litre (diluted)
Drying time:	6-8 timer;at 20 O C / 60% RH. -;further treatment can be carried out after 12 hours.
Dilution:	1part Silicate;Primer to 3 parts water.

Application

Painting a new colour or painting for the first time on not very absorbent surfaces like concrete, cement plaster and trowelled finish.

-Priming: Mix Silicate Paint and Silicate Primer 1:1
-Top coat: Add 15-20% Silicate Primer to Silicate Paint

Freshening up

-Add 15-20% Silicate Primer to Silicate Paint

Painting very absorbent surfaces like breezeblocks, lime plaster and finish

-Pre-op: Mix Silicate Primer and water 1:3
-Priming: Mix Silicate Paint and Silicate Primer 1:1
-Top coat: Add 15-20% Silicate Primer to Silicate Paint

Do not paint at temperatures below 8 °C and keep newly treated surfaces protected from rain right after being painted. Apply Skalflex Silicate Paint using a roller or paintbrush and work it well into the underlay. Leave at least 12 hours between layers.

Only use Silicate Paint on dry and thoroughly hardened surfaces. Newly built walls must be at least 2 years old before treatment. Newly plastered walls must be at least 1 year old before treatment. Previously whitewashed walls must be completely clean.

Silicate Paint and Silicate Primer corrode glass, ceramic tiles, metal etc.
